At 4-0 and ranked in the top five, the Oklahoma State Cowboys, led by head coach Mike Gundy, are one of the nation’s top football programs. This week the program had the vision and respect to honor soldiers of the 31st Air Defense Artillery Brigade out of Fort Sill, Oklahoma, bringing them for a visit to their University and with their team for the entire day.

Agni-II Missile Test-Fired off Orissa Coast

India’s nuclear-capable, surface-to-surface Agni-II ballistic missile, with a strike range of 2000 kms, was on Friday test-fired as part of user trial by the army from the Wheeler Island off Orissa coast.

Russia Tests New Ballistic Missile

Russia carried out on Thursday a successful test of a new sea-based intercontinental ballistic missile, the Defense Ministry said.

Russia Makes Condition

The next Russia-NATO summit will only be possible after a compromise is reached on ABM issues, the country’s envoy to the Alliance Dmitry Rogozin said. In the capacity of Russian president’s special representative for missile defense cooperation with NATO, he is holding a series of consultations with leaders of the organization’s European member states. This week, he met with Portugal’s top-ranking political and military officials in Brussels. 

NATO Missile Defense to get Interim Capability by Next May

 

BRUSSELS, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) — NATO leaders will announce an interim operational capability for the military alliance’s missile defense system in Europe at Chicago summit in May, 2012, the head of NATO said on Friday.

MDA Ground Test Demonstrates Phased Adaptive Approach

The U.S. Missile Defense Agency (MDA) successfully completed a ground test involving several distributed Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) elements. Data collected during the test, conducted September 12-16, demonstrated BMDS Phase 1 capabilities of the Phased Adaptive Approach to defend European allies and deployed forces from ballistic missile threats by simultaneously executing multiple theater engagements.
