The Obama Administration’s Efforts To Implement the European Phased Adaptive Approach

Last year President Obama committed the country to the Phased Adaptive Approach. Two weeks ago NATO decided to create a European Missile Shield as a contribution to Missile Defense. Missile defense systems won’t protect Israel

Even people who think missile defense is a good idea still have a valid argument. They argue that even if the first strike launched 200 missiles, it wouldn’t prevent the second strike from just unloading all of their missiles. The defense world is hard at work developing missiles, and rockets, however without going into too much intricate detail these weapons will provide an inefficient solution. Army Space and Missile Defense Command to honor late commander today

Lt. Gen. Larry Dodgen was honored today at the Redstone Arsenal. A conference room will be dedicated in his honor in the command center. In addition, a bronze plaque will be revealed and will have “A soldier’s solder” engraved upon it.

WikiLeaks exposes Missile Defense “Hundreds of Missiles” Capability

After Diplomacy has suffered the blow from the WikiLeaks leak of thousands of secretive cables, we have learned that not many cables were sent to and from the U.S. and Moscow. However, we did learn more about the Phased Adaptive Approach. The changes of the PAA put in by the Obama administration has been met with very little resistance from Moscow.

Slowing Iran’s nuke drive

A recent assasination attempt in Tehran is scaring many people, and targeting those involved in the Iranian Nuclear Program. Many people are fearing retribution from the Americans. The morning of the assisnation two motorcyclists sped by two cars, placed explosives on them and ended up killing one of the head officials in the Iranian Nuclear Program.

The Republican case for ratifying New START

For years the Republican Presidents such as Reagan, Nixon, and George H.W. Bush have led the fight for Missile Defense, and National Security. With this being said there is a strong urge for the Senate to ratify the New START Treatyt signed by President Obama, and Russian President Dmitri Medvedev. The most important thing for this treaty is to have Senate and Bi-Partisan support as the last treaty did. These are the views of the author, and do not reflect the view of MDAA.

US lawmaker warns of ‘evil twins’ Iran, NKorea

A senior United States lawmakr referred to Iran and North Korea as “Evil Twins”. He claimed that they are two Nuclear Powers working together, which will have the capability to wage war, and have devasting consquences. In addition, he stated that the combination of the two powers could be “very lethal”. At this particular meeting several U.S. Law Makers expressed concern that North Korea was selling Nuclear Technology to Tehran.

China Decries Naval Drills as Obstacle to Easing Korea Tensions

China has recently called the planned military drills between the 40,000 U.S. and Japanese troops as an obstacle to easing tensions. China believes that they should work more on easing diplomatic efforts. South Korea will send observers to the testing sight today. This will just increase U.S. military operations, and tightening political alliances.

Putin warns West over missile defence: report

December 2, 2010

Russian Prime Minister, Vladmir Putin, warned that Russia will withdraw from the New START if the new U.S. Missile Shield in Europe poses a threat to their National Security. SecDef Robert Gates, in a cable from WikiLeaks,refered to Russia as being portrayed as undemocratic. However, according to CNN Putin was quoted saying “I would also like to advise you, don’t interfere either (with) the sovereign choice of the Russian people.”

Former top U.S. diplomats urge support for START

The United States today is divided. There are evident growing tensions between the Republican and the Democrats, and with a huge debt, and unemployment this is expected. However, one issue that the two parties should get along in is National Security.
