Secretary Robert Gates said that Latin American countries need to be cautious about their involvement with Iran. Countries that are involved with Iran need to be this way because they would not truly know what the Iranians motives are. “I don’t really know what the Iranians are up to, to really tell you the truth.” Gates, said.

In a convoy that went to North Korea recently, they reportedly have a very modern laboratory. In addition, the new Kim will continue with the Nuclear Program, and they claim it is for “peaceful energy”.
United States President Barack Obama stated that a failure to ratify the New START Treaty would hurt U.S. and Russian Relations. It would furthermore, send a mix signal to Iran, the U.S. biggest threat. President Obama blames the supercharged partisan Senate for this action.
The Summit in Lisbon Portugal this past weekend was a success. NATO, and Russia will now be cooperating in a European Missile Shield. This is very good because it shows an improvement in U.S.-Russian relations, which will prove to be very beneficial. President Dmitri Medvedev stated that “Our security is indivisible. We share important interests and face the same threats to our common security.”
According to United States Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates, the United States risks a Russian fallout if the Senate fails to pass the New START Treaty. Some lawmakers do not believe that the New START Treaty is a good idea, however Secretary Gates stated “The reality is, despite what anybody says, I as secretary of defense and the entire uniformed leadership of the American military, believe this treaty is in our national security interests.”
This past weekend in the Lisbon Summit, President Barack Obama achieved a victory. The NATO leaders approved a European wide Missile Shield. This agreement is one of the most important victories for President Obama after numerous Foreign Policy set backs.
After the summit in Lisbon Portugal this weekend, world leaders have decided to create a European wide Missile Shield. The NATO countries have decided to create a system targeting Iran by using Missile Stations in Turkey. In addition the leaders of NATO have asked Russia to join in their shield.
