Dear Members and Friends,

In the midst of the dense population in the greater Philadelphia metro area of 5.8 million people, exists up to 10 sets of S-Band radars that have been emitting wavelength radiation safely since 1975 to develop, produce, integrate and test our nation’s Naval radars.

Today, the United States Navy has requested 84 ships in the fleet to be Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) capable. To make these ships BMD capable each needs to have Aegis Fire Control and Battle Management, S-Band radar and its 4 phased array faces as well as a mixture of defensive missile interceptors deployed in the ships vertical launch containers in the fore and aft of the ship.

Chinese Deal With Pakistan Hems Obama

According to the press China has decided to sell two nuclear reactors to Pakistan. Pakistan has never been a member of the Non-Proliferation Regime and China is a member of the Nuclear Suppliers Group banning the transfers of sensitive technologies to other parties non-compliant with or non-members of the nuclear non-proliferation regime.

China’s decision to sell nuclear reactors to Pakistan, which has not signed the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), is posing a challenge to the Obama administration’s commitment to curb the spread of nuclear technology.

U.S. gave Contracts to 7 Firms Involved in Iran Energy

The report recently published by the Government Accountability Office discloses governmental contracts to the firms linked to trade in Iranian energy sector. Both the Administration and Congress are trying to pass fourth round of United Nations sanctions because of the development of Iranian nuclear weapon program.

The U.S. government, while urging the world to cut business ties with Iran, has given government contracts worth nearly $880 million to seven foreign companies involved in Iran’s energy sector in recent years, a report said on Wednesday.

U.S. House Panel Adds Missile Defense Funds

Despite the Secretary of Defense warning not to increase defense spending, the U.S. House Subcommittee on Strategic Forces decided to add another 361.6 million to the Missile Defense Agency budget, making it a total of 10.3 billion to be spent in the FY 2011. The Administration’s original request was 9.9 billion.

The U.S. House subcommittee that oversees missile defense programs voted May 12 to boost spending on them in 2011, disregarding the president’s February budget request and more recent warnings from the defense secretary that defense spending must be restrained.

South Korea Closer to Blaming North for Sinking Ship

As the result of investigation regarding the March South Korean ship sinking are revealing, there is a little doubt that the North was behind the hostile action. Although so far not said publicly, the South is preparing to limit economic aid to the North.

South Korea came closer on Thursday to blaming North Korea for the sinking of a navy ship in March that killed 46 sailors with reports saying it plans economic measures to punish Pyongyang for a suspected torpedo attack.
