President Lech Kaczynski signed the law of February 12, on ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Poland and the Government of the United States of America on the Status of US Forces in the Territory of the Republic of Poland, signed in Warsaw December 11, 2009.
The Agreement will make it possible to establish a periodic, and then – in accordance to US declarations, by the year 2012 – permanent base of a Patriot air defense missile battery, and in the future also a base of SM-3 missiles, a component of an antiballistic missile defense system.
